Aren’t metal braces more effective? They’ve been around longer.
No. When the Invisalign process is handled by a dental professional, these clear aligners are just as effective as metal braces without the blow to self-esteem. The proof is in the pictures! Look at patients who have chosen Invisalign as a tooth-alignment option and judge for you.
How does Invisalign work?
First, as a trained Invisalign provider, in Bloor West Village we will meet with you about your dental issues and desired result. If you’re a good candidate for this technology, we’ll create a customized treatment plan just for you based on x-rays and impressions of your teeth. At a later appointment, you’ll receive several series of aligners, custom-made to fit your teeth. Every 2 weeks, you will upgrade to the next aligner in the series, as your teeth will have moved.
And you can take them off, right?
Right. You wear the aligner during the day or night (20 to 22 hours a day for best results), taking them out when it’s time to eat or to floss and brush. When you're clear aligners are in, however, most people won’t be able to tell you’re wearing them. They’re like invisible braces!
How long does treatment last?
For adults, a full course of treatment lasts about a year. Most teenagers find that they continue to wear their aligners for about the same amount of time they would spend wearing typical metal braces.
What are the aligners made of?
We fashion your clear aligners out of BPA-free plastic that will feel smooth and comfortable in your mouth. No wax to stick on metal corners or wires that rub the insides of your cheeks – there’s no irritation with Invisalign.
